Sharon Mayo hopes writing about herself in third person will make these paragraphs sound less narcissistic.

Sharon Mayo is a writer, director and creative producer based in Los Angeles. She received her BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts as a recipient of the Martin Scorsese Trustee Scholarship. She has a background in improvisational comedy and end to end post production.

Sharon recently graduated from Columbia University with an MFA in Creative Producing.  In 2023, she was recognized for her excellence in producing by receiving the Katharina Otto-Bernstein Mentorship Development Prize and the Arthur Krim Memorial Award.   In 2024, she was the recipient of The Richard Brick Fund for Special Distinction in Line Producing.

Currently, her thesis film ‘The Lily & The Scorpion’ is in the middle of its film festival run. She works part-time at the ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ as a post and archive consultant.

Sharon’s projects highlight stories that question the status quo, examines societal rules and champions outsiders.
