Sharon Mayo is a writer, director, and creative producer based in Los Angeles. She received her BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts as a recipient of the Martin Scorsese Trustee Scholarship. She has a background in improvisational comedy and end-to-end post-production.
Sharon recently graduated from Columbia University with an MFA in Creative Producing. In 2023, she was recognized for her excellence in producing by receiving the Katharina Otto-Bernstein Mentorship Development Prize and the Arthur Krim Memorial Award. In 2024, she was the recipient of The Richard Brick Fund for Special Distinction in Line Producing.
Currently, her thesis film ‘The Lily & The Scorpion’ is in the middle of its film festival run.
Sharon’s projects highlight stories that question the status quo, examine societal rules, and champion outsiders.
